The football federation of Burundi awaits newly elected leaders within a week. Following Lydia Nseke, a second candidate has publicly announced his running for FFB leadership. The latter, NZISABIRA Hussein held a conference today to which the public and private media were invited. In this conference, he announced his ambitions to reform and develop football in Burundi. He criticized his opponent who is the current President of the FFB. NZISABIRA notably criticized the recent decision to exclude some members of the federation, a measure which Nzisabira himself signed. He said he regrets putting his signature on a document in which he had not read the contents, he says. "I was tired because I had to travel more than twelve hours by plane from China", he explained. What has surprised many, is that this conference was well covered and published by state media, such as the National Television of Burundi who even spent some time in the publication of this element, even though it was pure propaganda, given the content of the statement of the candidate. Note that the election of new President of the FFB is scheduled for February 23rd of this month.
